I’ve got a confession to make: I didn’t get my ears pierced until I was 20 years old! Weird, right?! And as soon as those piercings healed I made up for all of that lost time by accessorising the heck out of my ears (and got my ears pierced again!).
Studs are great for sleeping in (I always worry that my piercings will close up so I rarely take out my jewellery) but for daytime, I want something loud and big, so I’m barely seen without hoops. Gold, silver, copper, rose gold, you name it, I have hoops in every colour. But they’re mostly of the cheaper variety so tarnish fairly quickly :(…
I was really pleased when Georgiana Scott Jewellery and founder of The Hoops Station got in touch and asked me to review a pair of hoop earrings. I’ve already got a penchant for dainty, ethical jewellery, so reviewing Italian-made fine jewellery at a reasonable price, erm, yes please!
I picked a gorgeous pair of rose gold hoop earrings with a gentle twist, made from a plated 18k rose gold material. I opted for the 46mm size as I like my hoops big!
They’re a gorgeous sparkly pair of hoops with twits and turns of delicate character. The simple design makes them ideal daytime wear or they can be dressed up for an evening out.
I’ve been wearing them a lot with darker colours – I think rose gold has an amazing quality to standout against deeper, richer colours. And obviously they pair perfectly with animal print!
The founder of the Hoop Station believes that “every woman around the world – whatever her age – deserves a quality pair of hoops!” and I completely agree. Yes it’s OK to pick up a pair from the high street but I also want a decent pair that will keep their sparkle and won’t also cost the earth.
This pair of hoop earrings in particular, the La LAGO di COMO range, are £69 for the medium sized pair in rose gold. A reasonable investment for a solid piece of jewellery that is so versatile.
I know it’s a strange time right now, and personally, I’m looking forward to getting out of my jogging bottoms and hitting the bars with my friends and seeing my family, but if in the meantime you’re looking for something sparkly to cheer you up, have a browse of Georginia Scott’s website. There’s a huge range beyond earrings, including necklaces and bracelets. There’s also 30% off for a the Easter period.
